Story
Leolo Hospitality needed a marketing partner to bring their dream of providing Chef-prepared meals to fruition. The husband-wife team had years of hospitality and Chef experience under their belts and were not sure where to start when it came to building a reputable brand. The team wanted to support local, so they selected Julia Mason of Enthusiasm Lab to guide them with the marketing tools to open their first business after a recommendation from a close friend that received a logo design from Enthusiasm Lab.
To start off the team on the right foot and provide a complete base for all of their marketing needs, Julia, Larry, and Lindsay sat down for a brand strategy session. The session provides a clear path forward and an essential marketing guidebook complete with customer personas.
The marketing guidebook is used as a foundation for all future marketing materials as well as the voice and tone for Leolo Hospitality. (A bonus, the guidebook can be utilized to pitch for small business loans and investors if needed.)
After agreeing the marketing guidebook accurately depicted their brand, Julia set to work on creating an iconic brand that was both sophisticated and approachable that the company could grow with should they decide to pursue additional hospitality ventures in the future. Brand colors, typography, and complimentary photography were selected.
From there the website, print materials, and social media were developed. Having a one-person partner provided consistency and the speed Lindsay and Larry needed to quickly bring the concept to life during a national pandemic. Despite not meeting in person until well after the business opened, Lindsay and Julia maintained constant communication to ensure the brand represented their customer benefits. Lots of upfront work was put into educating their potential customers on the concept and how ordering works to avoid confusion once opening.
The website was strategically designed to convert customers with many calls to action. Throughout the site engaging copy and carefully selected photography on how Chef-prepared meals provide an easier life, and more time to do what you enjoy led to a 2:33 session duration.
Customers were immediately drawn to the ease of ordering online, with a majority of orders being placed on the website, which greatly benefits Lindsay and Larry providing them additional time to perfect their meals. Reminder emails sent on a biweekly basis remind loyal customers to place their order in time for the next pickup.
Outcome
Leolo has had monumental sales during their very first month in business. Despite a new concept to the community, regular customers and fans have already been established due to clear communication across the website, emails, print materials, and social media.
They recently were featured as the cover story in the News-Herald. The team looks forward to partnering with Enthusiasm Lab to continue to develop a catering sector for their business and possibly a future restaurant.
